We are the Bennetts! Matt, Elizabeth, Caleb, and Baby Bennett coming September ’24, currently serving with Cru at their HQ in Orlando, Florida! We have been serving with Cru since 2015, and met as missionaries on the same ministry team in Bologna, Italy.
During our 8 years of college ministry in Italy, we loved building relationships and sharing the Gospel with students. Students from Italy and all around the world came to study in Bologna, and though most were searching for meaning in their lives, they had never heard that they could have a personal relationship with Jesus. God grew our hearts for the lost and for the world, and it was a privilege to pray and labor alongside believers in Italy for lives changed by a personal relationship with Jesus.
As missionaries sent by Cru overseas, we had experienced that many of our needs and risks were covered because Cru had good processes in place as a sending organization, freeing us up for effective ministry. In 2023, we discovered God’s invitation to become a part of those sending teams ourselves and contribute to the Great Commission in a new way, and we moved to Orlando, Florida to serve at Cru’s Global HQ.
Matt’s degree in finance and missionary experience led to a unique opportunity to serve in Cru’s Finance Department on the Risk Management team. Matt’s team analyzes risks to Cru’s staff and resources, develops insurance coverage and training programs to ensure that Cru’s ministries are sustainable long-term, and equips Cru leaders in risk management as they prepare events and missions trips to make Jesus known all over the world. He loves getting to help steward the resources God’s given Cru to maximize Kingdom impact all over the world!
Elizabeth serves in Leadership Development and HR, and especially enjoys developing Cru staff through personal assessments and team building workshops. She’s passionate about healthy staff and teams and equipping them to make their best contributions to fulfilling the Great Commission.
