THE CALLING:

David - “After I became a believer in college and as God was causing changes inside of me, I realized there are so many people in the world who are like I was. People, who don’t know anything about Jesus, who don’t know anything about true love, and who need forgiveness. When I was in an evangelism camp in 2011, God strengthened my calling to be a part of Cru’s missionary team. I was in my college years at that time, so since then, I’ve been working on making it possible to be in full-time ministry. In February 2014, I had the privilege to join staff with Cru. My calling is to be a full-time missionary, and Cru gives very good frames to fulfill that.”

Mirjam - “After I fully gave my life to Christ I joined Cru as a student because I knew that I could grow in my walk with Christ. God used these years to put evangelism and discipleship in my life as priorities. Once I was invited to the eastern European staff conference as a translator. As I listened to all the testimonies I told God that I never thought of myself as the missionary type but I want to leave that door open for Him too. So I went to Cru’s evangelism camp for a month to see if God will show me next step during that time as I was graduating from university at that time. He used it in many ways, and by the end I knew that I will join staff in the near future. The main reason I really wanted to joint staff was that I love discipling, I love to see God working in other people’s lives. My only thing was that I was worried a little about not getting married if I join staff. God showed be that he is more important and that he will provide so I decided to work a year in my field of study and later join staff. Not long after my decision David and I started dating and when it started getting serious we decided that I should apply that year.”

THE MISSION:

Cru’s focus in Hungary is around high-school and college students. We live in a post-communist country, where God opened great doors to spread the gospel. We are able to go to high-school classes, and talk about God! We can go to campuses to have conversations with the students, who are interested in hearing more about Christianity! When someone accepts Christ, we are helping him/her to find a church and to grow in faith. We create our events to fulfill these purposes. We have a discipleship chain, which is based on 2Timothy 2:2.

TEAMWORK:

We would not be able to do full-time ministry without our partners. They are supporting us through prayers and in financial ways. We are reaching the students together, and building God’s kingdom together. As Romans 12:5 says,

“…so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.”

Our prayer is to get to know more people, who can join us in one way or another.
