STORIES and songs…that’s how people in many language groups pass down their culture, history and values. Oral Bible storying speaks to them! An oral Bible story is an abridged version of a Biblical passage. Our vision is to help people in 500 unreached language groups hear the gospel in a way they can understand and equip them to grow in a community of faith.
Fast Facts about Bible storying
An oral Bible story is an abbreviated and simplified version of a biblical passage(s).
Most of our stories use only one Bible passage, but some use a composite of passages to form one story.
We abbreviate and simplify stories, but we do not add to them.
School of Storying participants use a Bible translation in their trade language as a benchmark to develop Bible stories in the local language.
We use 42 stories to tell the gospel from Creation to the Return of Christ. In just 35 days, a three-member StoryRunners team is able to coach native speakers to develop these stories into one of the 1,800 languages that have no written Bible.
We appreciate your partnership with us to help people know Christ in a way and language they understand, story by story. Thank you.
