My wife Paromina Bithi Biswas and I (Czear Sowmitra Biswas) are evangelists. We are doing campus ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ International. This isn’t our name in Bangladesh and it is wise not to have it written.   We have already witnessed God's power in so many ways as we are entered into 19th years of our ministry. God is at work in Bangladesh, and we are honored to be a small part of what He is doing.

The focus of our overall work is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ among students.   There are over 20,000 post school universities and colleges.   The number of students in 2025 is 27.6 million. We are on 200 of these institutions. As you might guess, it is quite challenging to share the Gospel with students, but God is faithful. Bangladesh is a Muslim country, so our work is not easy. Most of the people here do not tolerate other religions, but God is using us to bring lost souls to Jesus Christ.

God has given us the Great Commission. Matthew 28:18-20 says, "Then Jesus Christ came to His disciples and said, 'All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age.'" Therefore, we are trying to be a small part of fulfilling the Great Commission in our homeland of Bangladesh. We are trusting God to "change the world by turning LOST students into CHRIST-Centered Laborers through our efforts on campus".

 Jesus said to his disciples in Matthew 9:37-38, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the Harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field." For this reason we have committed to serve the Lord in gathering His harvest here in Bangladesh.

I, Czear, joined in 2006 and served on a local campus in Dhaka, our capital. Paromina joined in 2010 and was on the campus that I originally was a student. But at that time I was a Campus Team Leader in another city and so she began her ministry there.  Over the years we served in three cities before we returned to Dhaka where I took on the role of National Campus Director for Bangladesh.  I was twelve years in that role and began the role of National Campus Staff Coordinator (NST) in August 2025.  Along the way we had two wonderful children.

 Current Role

Bangladesh has 12 new staff in 2025 and I coordinate with 4 others who help train them.  It is a vital role.  The people have just graduated from university usually and this is their first job.  They are full-time Christian workers, representing Jesus, in a hostile environment.  We need to train them in skills but also in character and in the love of Jesus. As part of the role we are still working on campus to both reach students but also be a model for our new team members.

Our Ministry Needs: 

Our organizational financial policy involves support raising. We have no fixed salary. However, we must raise our living allowance, house rent, medical allowance, child allowance, ministry expenses, etc. from ministry partners like you. In Matthew 10:10(b) Jesus said that "a worker is worthy of his support", so we look to the Lord to provide our financial needs.

This team is our only source of income for the ministry and I trust that if you miss a month for any reason you'll try to make it up in the next month’s investment. All of the financial resources needed to run the ministry are given by our team. This includes all direct ministry expenses such as evangelism and follow-up materials, Bible studies and Bibles, cost of discipleship training conferences and our staff's salaries. 

All the funds you send in are controlled by Campus Crusade but they go into an account designated for us. If more than is budgeted comes in for a given month this does not increase staff salaries, but it stays there for later use. On the other hand, if any of our ministry partners fail to send in some month, we may not have enough in our account to pay staff salaries. So we receive just a partial paycheck that month.  We are, therefore, counting on the faithfulness of our team for both our livelihood and the total operation of our and your team’s ministry.

At present our monthly need is US $1000. As of July, our needs are quite high and have just $375 pledged.  So we are seeking to raise $ 625 per month. We do not want you to feel any pressure to give. We are convinced that if God wants us to continue His work, He will provide the necessary resources. We have some supporters in Bangladesh but we need help from Christians in the US, Australia and other countries to also contribute to us.

We also have a need to raise $5000 once off. We have been underfunded for a while and have some ministry and personal needs.
