Greatest Needs for Cru Inner City
The mission of Cru's inner-city ministry is to serve and mobilize the church to live out God's heart for the poor, so all can grow in Christ to build spiritual movements everywhere.
Where Most Needed
The needs in the inner cities of America are best understood by those who live and minister in that context every day — pastors of inner-city congregations.
Because of you, we can bring resources to which many of these churches don't have access — material supplies such as Boxes of Love® or PowerPacks™; ministry tools such as Bibles and gospel literature; training for adult and youth development; and extra manpower.
Together, we can bring these gospel resources to more places and ways than either of us could do alone… and expand our partnerships to more churches and cities, so more people can know Jesus!
Homeless Care Kits
Every winter we mobilize and reach out to communities in urgent need with Homeless Care Kits - providing items to help the homeless survive the difficult winter conditions in the name of Jesus.
Each Homeless Care Kit contains:
- Warm gloves, socks, a knit stocking cap, and a scarf
- A thick blanket to keep out the icy night
- A comb, toothbrush/toothpaste, soap, razors, shaving cream, and other basics
- Most importantly, the Gospel of John and a clear presentation of the plan of salvation

Adult Development
Our Adult Development programs can make an enormous impact, not only on adults, but also on the children in their lives.
- WorkNet — creative, engaging instruction and materials preparing the most difficult-to-place to begin careers, not just get jobs.
- Holistic Hardware — biblically-based life-skills training via DVD, discussion, quizzes, and homework.
- Steps to Change — a course helping move people out of poverty through financial skill training and a holistic, biblically-based approach to life change.
- Options Together™ — a small-group Bible study helping the user engage with the Lord’s mandate to care for the poor in the context of relationships.

Youth Development
Since 1992, Cru has offered a unique solution to churches and ministries that want to reach out to the children and teens in their neighborhoods. Currently, our S.A.Y. Yes! Centers for Youth Development® are ministering to more than 3,000 children and teens across the country.
The goal is to give at-risk children a solid foundation from which they can build a successful future. Through the local church, each child is ministered to spiritually, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially (Luke 10:27).
